My Book Review: I Call Him HIM by

I Call Him HIM

Author: Scott W. Kimak

Plot: In a Post-Apocalyptic World, a warrior and his family are driven underground, fighting for their very survival. When they do emerge, the futuristic planet they discover is very different from the one they left behind. Ruled by an evil presence which dominates and controls what is left of mankind, Earth has been reduced to a violent place of darkness, grief and destruction.

My Review and Thoughts:

This is an action-packed adrenaline inducing read. But it’s a read that has so much more than just an action pulp novel. For it has a message and an overall reality behind it. It brings forth that classic concept of Good and Evil. It showcases the brilliance of faith and doing what needs to be done to rid the evil presence before a world lost and battered by an end of the times reality.

This is a smart and complex tale of right and wrong, of choices and of the completion of a personal inner struggle. This has all the marks to a flawless imaginative tale that does not overshadow its main purpose, the will of the good against the bad.

Scott weaves a climatic tale that the reader fully comes to terms with as pages flow with a pace that never really lets up. There is a woven clarity of humanity and emotional understandings in this tale of a warrior. Scott creates a dynamic persona in this lost, revenge filled warrior. He creates a brilliant reality around this persona that the reader wants to understand, feel and follow along with the process of this man seeking an end to outcome. Add in a girl that becomes his side partner and in a sense a conscience. The girl Angelica is the reason that he needs. She is the foundation of finding his sanity. For Scott has written this warrior as a lost soul, battered with time and destruction. A past that bleeds deeply within the plot at hand.

I love a good story of good and evil. I love a good story of bad guys and good guys or good guys with a darkened side, influenced by all the pain around them. Scott has created that deep, dark spark of insanity and sanity all in the same persona. You the reader cannot help but feel these players. These main characters that are richly created on page. I loved these characters. I felt these characters, how cliché is that, but Scott knows how to write a character. How to bring a character to life in so many deep moments that you can’t help but praise that reality of his imaginative mind.

The whole book is one action tome of adventure and fantasy. A spiraling monstrosity of imaginative wonderment that works in so many ways. I had fun with this book. I felt the deep imagination on page. I was there, yes that is cliched also, but I can’t help but say it, that’s how well written this action fantasy is, it places you there.

This is a book that clearly will be a part of a series, but with that said you can read this one alone and still be satisfied and concluded. Scott made a world, personas and situations that linger deep in the wonderful imagination of the readers mind. This is a book that I feel any lover of action fantasy, YA and so on will utterly read this and become an instant fan. I am an instant fan of Scott’s. This is his debut novel and for a debut, it’s a wonderful experience that I feel has a high-class expertise around it. He writes like a veteran.

Would I Return to Again: I will return to this series it has all the wonderment one needs for a great series to flow with.

Would I Recommend: Absolutely. Fans of fantasy and action will truly get this book. A great example of good vs. evil.

My Rating: 4 out of 5

Four Final Words: Perfection in creative imagination
